![]() What We Are Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh preserves and revitalizes houses and communities, assuring that homeowners in need, particularly those who are elderly or disabled, live in warmth, safety and independence. Our goal is to make a sustainable impact in Allegheny County in partnership with the community. Whom We Help The number of low-income homeowners increases each year. Additionally, the number of older persons ages 85 and older is anticipated to increase by 52% between the years 2000 and 2020. RTP supports the need to help elderly individuals maintain independence and dignity in their homes and communities. About 45.7% of seniors in Allegheny County live in pre-1950 housing and 20,000 citizens live at or below poverty level which ultimately leads to homes falling into disrepair and dilapidated conditions. Individuals are referred to RTP through the Area Agency on Aging, the Health Department, local agencies and nonprofits, congregations and by self referral. We invite low-income elderly homeowners that are in need of help with repairs and modifications to apply if they live in Allegheny County, own their home, are current paying property taxes and their income is at or below 150% of the poverty level. When We Work Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh has three program components operating throughout the year. Please see "Our Programs" section for more information. Our 2008 Project Impact
